Is a Ukraine-Russia War Shift happening before our eyes? President Donald Trump has said he would make a “major statement” today about Russia’s war in Ukraine and he did when he met with the head of NATO this morning. He announced the U.S. will provide more weapons to Ukraine through NATO countries paying for them as he voiced his frustrations with Russian President Vladimir Putin on whether peace can be achieved now, or sometime in the future. The truth is, Mr. Putin still holds all the cards, even with more weapons planned to be transferred to Ukraine, unless something changes the negotiating posture. The Russian Armed Forces continue to advance across territory in the Donbas region they say they want as part of any peace deal. Unfortunately, the war is causing thousands more deaths every month it continues and there doesn’t appear to be an end in sight without a negotiation breakthrough directly between the belligerents.
