Defending Ukraine is very much in the United States interests.

Ignoring what Putin’s Russia is doing there is no different than the U.S’.s failure to timely engage Germany and Japan in WWII. Do we have to wait until there’s another Pearl Harbor to do what’s necessary?

Right now, Ukrainians are willing and able to put their lives on the line to stop Russia. If we do not assist them now, it’s only a matter of time before U.S. troops will be dying. Again.

We cannot avoid WWIII by turning a blind eye to the situation. Only Russia can back off from their stated goal of building a new non-democratic world order.

No one wins by ignoring a bully with dreams of world domination. They are already firmly entrenched in Africa, and they’ve made clear they want all the prior USSR countries back.

Yes, obviously America’s borders need to be secured. But these are not mutually exclusive goals. The failure to secure our southern boarder will and has weakened us from within.

But don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

I pray we don’t have to learn again what happens when we ignore history. Clearly Putin has not. We can do better.
